Cronkshaw Fold Farm Rossendale

Located in the lovely Alden Valley, Cronkshaw Fold in Rossendale is a traditional mountain farm with a passion for environmentally friendly farming, animal welfare and teaching about the importance of sustainable agriculture. They run educational visits, host traffic for farm vacations and in 2019 they are trying our hands at hosting weddings, also!

They farm poultry, meat goats and cows along with our kitchen gardens, fish pond and broadleafed woodland in Rossendale. They use sustainable farming practices that encourage a healthful environment, care for the countryside, raise local wildlife and conserve traditional rural skills like dry stone walling, hedge laying, coppicing and companion planting.

A Great day Out for The Kids

All of their livestock are farmed consistent with the RSPCA”5 freedoms” doctrine and have access to large outdoor spaces such as grazing and foraging during fair weather such as species rich mowing meadows. Additionally they have indoor weatherproof accommodation for inferior weather.

Climate change is something Cronkshaw Fold Rossendale are very concerned about. The team have a fantastic sense of urgency to do everything that they can to stop their participation towards emissions and help their customers do the same. Including working towards changing their current farming techniques in order to grow produce with a lower carbon footprint. They are also working hard to raise money to invest in renewable power technologies in order that they can produce and store energy onsite.
